Splashes of Hope

"We at Splashes of Hope dedicate ourselves to transform, enrich and facilitate healing through art. With this mission, we have brought murals and other artistic projects to medical and social service facilities around the globe. Our murals are custom-designed to meet the specific needs of the facility’s patients, staff and visitors." ~Splashes of Hope website

Splashes of Hope is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by Heather Buggeé.  Heather was finishing art school and spending time in a local hospital visiting a friend dealing with Hodgkin's disease.  During their visits, they discussed ways to make the hospital more aesthetically appealing by creating an environment that would be conducive to healing with uplifting imagery and color.  When Heather's friend passed on, she made their conversations and dreams into a reality.

Blythedale Children's Hospital made the first request for some ceiling tiles, which could be easily removed and replaced or put in specific rooms for children having a difficult time.  Heather also painted her first mural at the Blythedale Children's Hospital, a brightly colored train.  Her work eased the stress and crying of children going into a treatment room, and the feedback she received encouraged her to officially start Splashes of Hope.

Splashes of Hope works with volunteer artists, donations and donations in-kind to create murals for hospitals across the US and even overseas.  FM brush, Inc. has a vested interest in Splashes for the betterment of the local and national healing community as well as giving artists the best tools possible to use when creating art work.

Currently, they are taking design ideas for a garden-themed mural going in the Garden at the Hagedorn Little Village School in Seaford, NY.  You can find more details and enter your design in their competition on the website:  Splashesofhope.org.
