As of January 30th, you'll have to head to your local Michael's to find the newest brushes from Dynasty. These are not just new from Dynasty, they are completely new designs on the market. . . found nowhere else!
First, there is the Palmer, aptly named because it fits comfortably in your hand. A wide flat paddle brush, in different shapes ideal for glazing, top coats, gesso layers or even undercoats the canvas. These brushes are also ideal for furniture or faux finish work and they come in 12 different shapes and sizes, both in bristle and synthetic hair.

The other brush series is the Duet. These brushes are dual ended, with different tips on each end. An easy way to hold more color or definition without holding more brushes. The Duets also have a range of shapes and sizes in synthetic hair.
To help you get a better idea of what these brushes look like and how they work, I've uploaded a few new videos to our YouTube channel. Take a peek and let us know what you think of the designs. Or let us know how you are using these brushes!

This brush company needs to get a grip who would use this brush? I don't understand how it could be comfortable to hold.
ReplyDeleteI have one in every size and bristle type , they are awesome ! Comfortable for Long work periods no stress on the wrist. Especially for Faux Finishing work and mural work.
DeleteMaybe trying it would change your mind? I often cut handles off of brushes in order to get a shape like this for my faux work, because my wrist gets tired. Just something that works for me, but now that brushes have been designed with a short handle, no need to make any alterations.
ReplyDeleteAs a body painter with tendonitis, I'm looking forward to checking out these brushes. I was going to order them from an online retailer and hope for the best but now that I know they're in stores I'll check them out in person. I had no idea that Dynasty had a blog! ReplyDeleteI bought two of these brushes and I love them. I would like to know how to store these brushes though. Obviously they cannot be stood up in a cup, so is there a holder to put them in to keep them from rolling off the table? The only draw back is I keep sticking the brush in my mouth to adjust my work...definitely have to get out of that habit! hahaha
DeleteCindy: I'm so glad you like the brushes. We had a lot of fun designing them. There are two products that are wonderful holders for the Duet brushes.
ReplyDeleteThe first is ArtBin Essentials Brush Box. Its a plastic box with a foam insert that holds the brushes in place - great for storing and traveling. Also Masterson Art Products just introduced the Sta-New brush holder. This terrific stand will hold up to 10 brushes while you work. It's perfect for the Duets.
