When getting started in watercolors or acrylics,
or switching from oils to watermedia, it might be tricky for some to learn how
the paint moves and blends on the paper’s surface. In this quick video, the artist is using a
round brush and single blender brush to blend acrylic paint, a technique that
could also be used with watercolor paint.
Notice how she has a light touch and yet the paint is controlled by the
shape of the brush tip and her use of water.
Sometimes, blending color may occur on the substrate, and other times, this work may be done on the palette depending on the medium and technique the artist is using. Regardless, using the right brushes for your style is key.
