  1. Hello, I took a trip to a local art supply store today and almost by accident noticed a #6 pure squirrel brush with a sale price of about 26 dollars and decided to pick one up. I love the size and the hair is soft and responsive. I can hardly wait to really put it to use. I have a question though that I have not seen answered on the Dynasty website; of what type of squirrel and from where is it sourced from? I see printed on the handle that the brush ios made in Thialand but other then the sizes carried I have seen no other info. Perhaps you can fill me in a little more when you get a chance. I am thinking of purchasing a #'s 1 and 4 tomorrow! Thanks.

  2. Hello, so glad that the squirrel brush is to your liking. The hair is of Asian origin, from the Blue Squirrel. There is also a faux squirrel synthetic quill if you're interested. Let us know how they work out on your paintings.

  3. Hello again and thanks for the response. I have had good results while learning to utilize my, now size's 00 and 6 squirrel quills from Dynasty. Again I'll state that at roughly half the price of a french competitor's line of Kazan/blue these quills are a good>great value. I am glad my local Utrecht has them stocked. These brushes are seemingly just getting better as I continue to paint and experiment with them. Now I might have to try the faux sables your co. offers. I try to not throw glowing reviews around too recklessly but in this case it is just.

  5. I had just noticed this response and I'll post a link (a really large one) to a recent painting I made using my Dynasty quills. Thanks for asking and am enjoying the artist spotlights. http://dashboardsplatter.blogspot.com/2012/05/back-to-painting.html?showComment=1336834000751#c8568961080301037022
